Leenah thanks for the compliment first blushing in here. I am in total disagreement with this statement. I do not think that we have control over our life. Our life is made up. Lets post something about how many people satisfied with their life and see. I bet you that more than 50% of us are not happy. Lets bet and see. Salam
But how about first conducting a survey that how many of us actually do own our decisions? Many of us make choices that we think we are 'supposed' to make ... never thinking out of the box ... always moving through the same rut. Always convinced of our inability to do otherwise. We keep pitying ourselves and keep doing what we "assume" we are supposed to do: because thats the safer route. This too, is a choice that we make. Of taking the safe path. Of feeling unhappy. Cause that makes us sympathetic towards our own selves.
Reckless adventure is not my game, but not owning my own doings is also not my sport. ;)
Life is a building. The Architect is the One, and you yourself are the mason. The building blocks are of your choice. I bet! ;)
While we are speaking on choice, have you read Frost's, "The Trial by Existence". I thought the concept was a latent rip-off from Rumi and mystic sort of thinking.

Still undecided whether the "Road not taken-Road taken" led us where we are, the infamous never-ending conflict.

Na, I haven't. But now that you mention, I shall iA.
I guess every poet has some degree mystical semblance .... Don't you think?
As a concept, difficult to classify and all is very subjective!
